Benefit rates 2020-21


As the financial year comes to an end, the proposed updated rates for benefit payments for 2020/2021 have been released.


The following benefit rates may not contain all extra elements, premiums and components. Additionally, some means-tested benefits are subject to other variables such as income and capital.


Rates are on a weekly bass unless otherwise shown.


Attendance Allowance


Higher rate - £89.15

Lower rate - £59.70


Bereavement Support Payment


Standard lump sum - £2,500

Standard rate monthly - £100

Higher lump sum - £3,500

Higher rate monthly - £350


Carer’s Allowance


Standard - £67.25

*Extra additions are available for some existing claimants


Disability Living Allowance


Care component highest - £89.15

Mobility component highest - £62.25


Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) (contributory)


Personal allowance over 25 - £74.35

*Extra premiums are available for Income-related ESA


Incapacity Benefit


Long term - £114.15

Income Support

Jobseeker’s Allowance
